we’re all lightly here, says the tao and

the zen, says the bible, says Leonard

Cohen in a song, we’re all so lightly

here—plants, animals, us—our roots an

inch or two, our time a blink or two…

what are you going to do…paint a

picture, scratch a word, sing a song…

when danger approaches, an Arab proverb

says sing to it…when the end comes,

sing to it.

Thank you to the man of poetry and song who shared his many gifts so abundantly with us.
